Being with Versa-Style for 13 years (first as a student and now as colleague), I am proud of the organization's efforts in expanding their youth programs. I first came to know Versa-Style through their after-school teaching residency and community dance classes. As a teenager, these safe spaces helped me stay motivated and confident as I finished high school and entered a completely new environment in post-secondary education.
The VS programming that I value most are the teaching residencies because, from my personal experience, I know that this programming creates environments where youth become friends/family and are able to build a support system among themselves - a strong community!
As we end the year, I'd like to call on you to help us finish 2022 strong and start the new year ready for the work to continue!
